Students in Nunavut have a vast array of skills, knowledge, and values to contribute to our communities’ and our territory’s future. They have learned from peers, family, and Elders; they have learned from experience, from observation, traditional knowledge, and from the land.

Articles can be submitted in any of Nunavut's Official Languages: Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, English and French are welcome.
If you do not have translations available, we can help you to story translated.
We especially encourage Nunavut students, researchers and organizations
to contribute stories, news, articles and information to contribute.
Nunavut Echo Submission Guidelines
Written articles, photos, images or content submitted to the Nunavut Echo may be published in the Nunavut Arctic College web site, the Nunavut Echo News or the Government of Nunavut.

Article guidelines
Write tight articles: Written submissions should be between 300-500 words in length.
Write a headline: Write a short, active headline of five to 10 words or about 50-60 characters. For headlines, capitalize only the first word of the headline and proper nouns ant titles in headlines. For example: Nunavut students publish new Arctic College newspaper. Try to be creative with your headlines!
Try not to use too many abbreviations: Always write out the first reference to an acronym in full followed by its spelling. For example, Financial Assistance for Nunavut Students (FANS) or Economic Development & Transportation (ED&T)
Write out single digit numbers (1-9). For example, five hunters caught three seals 13 days ago. If the number is 10 or more, use numbers.
Guidelines and tips for submitting photos
Photos and images submitted to the Nunavut Echo may be published on the Nunavut Arctic College web site, the Nunavut Echo News or used in a variety of other communications products.
- Please send more than one photo if you can;
- Please ensure your photographs are appropriate for youth, adults and Elders. No inappropriate photos or images, such as pornographic images will be accepted;
- Some communities do not have very good Internet connections. Please try to keep your file size small (as in about 1mb);
- Please provide a caption describing each image submitted with your story. The captions help describe the image and provide more information about your story;
- It is very important to recognize the artist, photographer or designer of the image. Please, always include a photo credit for each photograph;
- Please provide a date for when the photo was taken;
- If you did not take the photo, please make sure to indicate that you have received permission to use the images and that each photo is properly credited to the photographer or creator of the photo/image.
