Premier Aariak Announces Ministerial Portfolio

IQALUIT, Nunavut (October 5, 2011) - Premier Eva Aariak today announced the ministerial portfolio of Mr. Fred Schell, following his swearing-in on September 30, 2011.

Student Orientation Week in Rankin Inlet began last week with a series of workshops, presentations and fun activities welcoming new and returning students to both Kivalliq Hall and the Nunavut Trades Training Centre.

On Saturday, September 3, 2011, Kivalliq Campus students celebrated student orientation week in Rankin Inlet with a scavenger hunt that saw them running from one end of the town to the other.

The Fur Design and Production Program is offered in Iqaluit, Pangnirtung, Rankin Inlet and Taloyoak and will start in January 2012. Limited places are available! Call NOW to reserve your place! Applicants should also remember that the deadline for applying to the Financial Assistance for Nunavut Students (FANS) is November 15, 2011.

it's that time of year! Students and staff with the Nunavut Teacher Education Program kicked off the new school year registering for classes at Nunatta Campus in Iqaluit.

The Nunavut Teacher Education Program (NTEP), in partnership with the University of Regina, offers a campus and community based program prepares Nunavummiut to become classroom teachers in Nunavut schools. The emphasis is on training primary and elementary teachers, but students may choose to practice at the Junior High and High School levels. The program has a strong focus on practice, and the theory learned in courses is applied in classroom situations through observation and teaching.
