Arctic College celebrates Environmental Technology Program graduates in Pond Inlet

Last month, Arctic College Environmental Technology students from Pond Inlet, Nunavut travelled through Ottawa for their southern research expedition. Now, they're celebrating their graduation! Last month, Arctic College Environmental Technology students from Pond Inlet, Nunavut visited Ottawa during their southern research expedition (click here for details). Now that they're all back home in Pond Inlet, they have have one more exciting event to experience: Graduation!

We extend our congratulations to Pond Inlet Environmental Technology Program graduates Ezra Arreak, Jeffery Killiktee, Terry Kalluk, Enookie Inuarak, Tim Soucie, Ivan Koonoo, Trevor Arreak, Daniel Inuarak, Sam Arreak, Randy Quaraq, James Simonee and Andrew Arreak.

This was the first time Nunavut Arctic College has offered the Environmental Technology Program outside of Iqaluit. The students -- all graduated -- hope to enter the Diploma year of the program this fall.

The Environmental Technology Program is a two-year diploma program that incorporates classroom and practical lab and field experiences to develop student skills. Graduates of the program will possess the necessary skills to meet the growing demand for environmental practitioners in such fields as resource development and management, fish and wildlife conservation, environmental protection, parks management, environmental assessment, waste management, environmental research, and environmental education.
