IQALUIT, Nunavut (May 4, 2012) - Premier Eva Aariak today welcomed the Hon. Monica Ell to the Nunavut cabinet. Ms. Ell was sworn-in this morning as the eighth member of cabinet at the Nunavut Legislature.

Whitehorse, YT – Students attending college in Canada’s three northern territories will soon have greater opportunities to further their studies at other universities. That’s because of a new memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed today in Yellowknife, NWT between Yukon, Aurora and Nunavut Arctic Colleges and Dalhousie University, University of Laval, University of Alberta and University of Ottawa.

IQALUIT, Nunavut (April 25, 2012) – Today in Igloolik, 15 Elders have been certified as Innait Inuksiutilirijiit in Nunavut schools, acknowledging their skills, knowledge and abilities as an integral part of education in Nunavut.

IQALUIT, Nunavut (April 18, 2012) – The Government of Nunavut’s (GN) Department of Education and Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to maximize the capacity of Inuit youth in pursuing skilled trades and professional careers.

Premier Eva Aariak is pleased to announce the Government of Nunavut’s presentation of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal to Sandy Akavak of Kimmirut.

On March 27, the Honourable Edna Elias, Commissioner of Nunavut presented the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal to Lieutenant Frank May of Arctic Bay.

Premier Eva Aariak is pleased to announce the Government of Nunavut’s presentation of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal to two Nunavummiut – Jenna Kilabuk and Jaco Isulutak, both from Pangnirtung, are being recognized for their individual contributions to the well-being of Nunavummiut and Nunavut.
