Premier Aariak congratulates family of Order of Nunavut recipient Mark Kalluak
Written by Premier Eva AariakPremier Eva Aariak today released the following statement:
I would like to offer the family of Mark Kalluak my warmest congratulations on Mark’s posthumous appointment to the Order of Nunavut. Mark was a leader in Nunavut who taught by example, and always with dignity and respect.
Mark will be remembered as a language specialist, as a gifted teacher, and a master story teller, whose stories will continue to live on in our hearts and minds. The Government of Nunavut was fortunate that Mark used his talent and knowledge to give back to one of our most vital departments, education, where he worked to ensure Inuit traditional knowledge continues to play a vital role in academic curriculum.
The Order is the highest honour of Nunavut and takes precedence over all other orders, decorations or medals conferred by the Government of Nunavut.
