This week is 2010 Nurses Week. The theme is “Nursing: you can’t live without it!”
There is a need to inform the public of the diversity of nursing. The scope of nursing practice now includes research and informatics.
The Nunavut Arctic College nursing students held a blood pressure clinic as a public service in Northmart this Wednesday May 12. The students took many blood pressures and disseminated information about TB, Nutrition and Pregnancy as well.

Arctic College Nursing instructor Angela Rintoul was elected president of the Registered Nurses Association for the Northwest Territories and Nunavut on May 13. In addition to her work instructing with the Nursing program, Angela is also a nurse practitioner in Iqaluit. She sees her role working to expand advocacy for northern nurses.
Congratulations, Angela!
