Training opportunity: HIGH FIVE – PHCD (Principles of Health Child Development) Feb. 16 in Iqaluit

Date & Time: Feb 16 (Thursday) 10:45-6pm 
Class capacity:  Max 25 people
Location: Aqsarniit Middle School – Iqaluit
Successful candidates will receive a certificate

Target Audience:  Anyone working with kids ages 6 – 12.
Class includes: Learning the 3 Program design guidelines and the 5 Principals of Healthy Child Development

Description: This one-day workshop will help front-line leaders, coordinators and supervisors, who work with children aged 6 to 12, improve the quality of programs. It provides in depth training in the HIGH FIVE® Principles of healthy child development so that leaders understand what they need to do to ensure each child’s social, emotional and cognitive needs are met. Participants learn activities and gain knowledge, tips and resources to enhance their programs as well as their relationships with children and other staff members.

At the completion of this workshop, learners will be able to:

  • Design an activity plan that enhances a child’s healthy development
  • Build healthy relationships in all areas of programming for children
  • Create environments and spaces that foster healthy child development

Resources: Participants receive resources related to healthy child development including the Principles of Healthy Child Development Workbook and related handouts.
