Last week, Jim Legge and I finally visited the Nunavut Teacher Education Program in the community of Gjoa Haven. This was our third attempt to do so…..it was certainly worth the wait!

During our time in the community we met with various stakeholders:

  • District Education Authority (Special Meeting)
  • Hamlet Council (Special Meeting)
  • High School Principal and NTEP Practicum Student
  • Elementary School Principal
  • NTEP Students

We thank the community of Gjoa Haven for their warm welcome. It was a pleasure to meet with the students and stakeholders. Their interest in the Nunavut Teacher Education Program was quite evident during the conversations. Additionally, it provided us with the opportunity to inform them of the positive programs offered by Nunavut Arctic College.

We wish to share the following highlights of our visit with you.
