Graduates of the Nunavut Arctic College Environmental Technology Program are celebrating their special day today with an appreciation luncheon at the Nunavut Research Institute.

The Nunavut Research Institute was packed for the special event with friends, family and supporters of the highly-successful two-year diploma program. A special thanks to Tom Williamson for his excellent BBQ skills!

Graduation starts at 2:00 today at the Old Residence.

IQALUIT, Nunavut (May 4, 2012) - Premier Eva Aariak today welcomed the Hon. Monica Ell to the Nunavut cabinet. Ms. Ell was sworn-in this morning as the eighth member of cabinet at the Nunavut Legislature.

As a part of the Office Administration Program, students are required to do a brief work placement. Therefore, today, our Education Programs Office Administrator, Amanda Holland, is hosting Mary Nowdlak (Iqaluit).

Program planning for next year is continuing unabated in Education Programs at Nunavut Arctic College.

In this current year, we made efforts to include new initiatives as it pertained to course delivery. It is important that we continually seek ways and means to address the realities of geography and the cultural dynamic that is reflective of this large land.

The award-winning animated Nunavut film Amaqqut Nunaat: The Country of Wolves has won the jury award for "Best Narrative Short" at the 15th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival in Austin, Texas.

Premier Eva Aariak had an opportunity to sit down with young leaders from across the North to discuss issues important to them on Saturday, April 28, in Iqaluit. Global Vision, a not for profit organization, brought together the young leaders to participate in a Global Leadership Centre. Igloolik students visit Nunatta Campus

Grade 12 students from Attagutaaluk High, Igloolik, visited Nunavut Arctic College's Nunatta Campus in Iqaluit today. They were on their way through the community to Ontario to visit other universities. We took this opportunity to speak to them about the positives of attending an institution of higher learning in Nunavut.
