Study Online: Introduction to the Circumpolar World (BCS 100)

Starting in January, Nunavut Arctic College will be offering Introduction to the Circumpolar World (BCS 100), an online university course affiliated with the University of the Arctic. It will be offered in English with the option of submitting discussion questions and assignments in English or Inuktitut. There are no prerequisites for this course except the ability to read and write at the college level.
Introduction to the Circumpolar World covers topics such as: The Peoples and Cultures of the Circumpolar World, Environment and Global Climate Change, and the Well-Being of Northern Peoples and Communities.
All course material is available online at no extra cost and a bilingual course instructor is available for support and tutoring. This course will also focus on building skills in critical thinking, essay writing and online learning. This course can be taken in any community and offers flexible scheduling. This course is avaliable to Nunavut Arctic College students for free, and is available to Nunavut residents at a cost of $375.
