Under the supervision of the Director of Trades, Mining and Transportation Programs, the incumbent is responsible for the management of Trades staff in the Kivalliq Campus and for all aspects in the delivery of trades programming that are based in the Kivalliq Region. Organizational responsibilities include the administration of base funded and 3rd party trades programming offered in the Kivalliq Campus; overseeing budgeting and financial aspects, and for providing the accountability of the various programs.

The successful incumbent will hold or be eligible to hold, a Canadian Teaching Certificate or a Certificate in Adult Education. A Certificate in the field of Equipment Operations is a definite requirement plus several years of positive and progressive work experience in these areas of instruction. Certification in Explosive Activated Tools, WHIMIS & First Aid and experience teaching in a post-secondary would be considered an asset.

Fluency in both written and oral Inuktitut would be an asset.

This position is included in the Nunavut Employee’s Union. The salary ranges from $ 83,889- $ 95,199 depending on experience. In addition, this position is also entitled to a Senior Instructor’s allowance of $2,100 per academic year. An annual northern allowance of $18,517 is also provided for this position.
