The Program Manager Teacher Education Programs is located in Rankin Inlet and reports to the Director of Education Programs. The incumbent is responsible for supervising and managing all aspects of community and campus based Teacher Education programs in the Kivalliq and Kitikmeot regions. The incumbent also supervises and manages all other education related programs such as the Aboriginal Language Certificate program and other professional development programs for teachers and education support staff. The incumbent is responsible for realizing Nunavut Arctic College’s commitment to the GN’s10 year teacher education strategy and plays a key role in preparing educators in Nunavut to help the Nunavut government reach its goal of improved education and training outcomes as outlined in Tamapta.

The position is responsible to the adult population of Nunavut’s communities and works with various individuals, organizations, Industry and government departments, in order to deliver the accredited apprenticeship trades program and meet all standards and requirements of the Nunavut Apprenticeship, Occupational & Certification Board.

Under the supervision of the Director of Trades, Mining and Transportation Programs, the incumbent is responsible for the management of Trades staff in the Kivalliq Campus and for all aspects in the delivery of trades programming that are based in the Kivalliq Region. Organizational responsibilities include the administration of base funded and 3rd party trades programming offered in the Kivalliq Campus; overseeing budgeting and financial aspects, and for providing the accountability of the various programs.

This position is located in Rankin Inlet and reports to the Senior Instructor, Trades Programs, Kivalliq Campus. The Instructor, Electrician Program will plan, instruct, evaluate and report on student learning in Nunavut’s Apprenticeship Accredited Electrician Program for apprenticeship levels 1 and 2. The incumbent will collaborate with various individuals, organizations and industry departments to deliver the trades program and meet all the standards and requirements of the Nunavut Apprenticeship, Occupational & Certification Board.
