This year Nakasuk School, Iqaluit, has again entered into a partnership with the Nunavut Teacher Education Program of Arctic College.
it's that time of year! Students and staff with the Nunavut Teacher Education Program kicked off the new school year registering for classes at Nunatta Campus in Iqaluit.
The Nunavut Teacher Education Program (NTEP), in partnership with the University of Regina, offers a campus and community based program prepares Nunavummiut to become classroom teachers in Nunavut schools. The emphasis is on training primary and elementary teachers, but students may choose to practice at the Junior High and High School levels. The program has a strong focus on practice, and the theory learned in courses is applied in classroom situations through observation and teaching.

Nunavut Environment Minister Daniel Shewchuk congratulated Fur Production and Design graduate Rosie Audlakiak of Qikiqtarjuaq in the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. Audlakiak took first place for her sealskin fashion design in this year's Fur-Re-invented national student design contest.
