Makimautiksat graduates from 2011 have called this program "the experience of a life time" and continue to stay in touch with each other and QHRC.
Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated and the Government of Nunavut are partnering with Qaujigiartiit Health Research Centre to offer this dynamic, community responsive youth empowerment camp pilot in Iqaluit from June 25th - July 7th, 2012. Makimautiksat Youth Wellness & Empowerment Camp was developed by Qaujigiartiit Health Research Centre in response to Nunavut communities requests for culturally competent programming for youth that emphasize mental health and wellness best practices while balancing Inuit values, traditions and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.
Please find the attached promotional poster for Makimautiksat as well as the youth application forms and parental application forms (consent for your child to attend our program). More detailed information is provided on the Makimautiksat Applications for Parents/Guardians and Youth & Land Camp Waiver forms. There are only 15 spots for participants so have your son or daughter apply to the following Iqaluit Makimautiksat Facilitators as soon as possible.
